Dignity and the Death Penalty: A Conversation with Sister Helen Prejean & Cardinal Gregory
Show Notes

Cardinal Wilton Gregory, archbishop of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington, and Sister Helen Prejean discuss the death penalty in the United States in a webinar presented by RENEW International and The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington. In addition to sharing their own views of capital punishment, Cardinal Gregory and Sister Helen talk about how Catholics can participate in civil discourse on this polarizing topic and how Catholics can take part in the movement to abolish the death penalty.

Cardinal Gregory has written extensively on a consistent ethic of life. His publications have included pastoral statements on the death penalty, racial justice, and euthanasia/physician-assisted suicide.

Sister Helen Prejean is a leading advocate for abolishing the death penalty in the United States and is well known for her book, Dead Man Walking, which was adapted as a major motion picture.
